Coming to terms?

Hi all
I really don't want to offend, but tried posting this elsewhere and got only one reply, so thought I might try here...
I have a friend who is trying to come to terms with only having one child. She has always wanted two, but after numerous treatments and miscarriages, is exhausted by the process and does not think that her second child is meant to be.
However she is finding it very hard to say that she has reached the end, even though she does not think her health or finances have enough left to try again.
Where can she look for support to help her decide if she has reached the end of her journey? Are there any good books that can offer support or help spell out the benefits that having one child can bring?

Any advice gratefully received

Thanks for replying
My friend used to be a social worker, and doesn't feel that adoption would be the right thing for them. She is now mid-40's, and has only been able to get pregnant through ivf...
She is pretty sure that nothing will come of letting nature take its course, but needs some help moving on. I am happy to listen, but am not the right person to help her, which saddens me.

PS congratulations on your two year old
I do know of two people who adopted and then got pregnant within a year, so I know where you are coming from!

Not sure where your friend can go for help as I have no personal experience of this. I have noticed that there seem to be a lot more only children around than I remember when I was growing up though.

Has your friend tried to access counselling through her GP?
