I can't believe how much I actually need my sleep in the morning at weekends... I am just hanging on between children, work and no sleep. Ah.. and being the taxi driver for my kids everyday to cover all the activities!

appreciate your husband more.

i've been on my own for 8 years. wait til that loneliness really startes setting in, then he will be back.

some of us have no one to talk to. the relentless loneliness 8 years solid of having the bed to myself, and it's getting boring now.
you are very lucky!

While it isn't easy being on your own with dc, 6 months will fly by.

Here's a tip from a full time single mum:

Train your kids to use the dvd/comuter independantly. Then when they wake u early at the weekends send them downstairs to watch a dvd/play on the computer while you have a lie-in.

It is the only way I survive. I also leave a bowl of cereal covered in cling film on the table so DS just has to pour the milk in from the fridge and have his own breakfast. He now knows not to come into my room until 9am on the weekends.

Thank you the cereal tip is a great one! we have just had a rubish morning with the older one age 6 shouting out and testing all by buttons of pacience. If course I get the blame for daddy being away! I am going to try the breakfast thing this weekend! Does any of you work? I find that sometimes work is the only time to get my confidence booster and to keep life sane! I am sooooo tired!!! This house is a battle field with my oldest at the moment. But if I give in it will get even worse and nothing gets done!

I'm a nurse so have to cope with shifts, ferrying dc to their various activities, housework, shopping, cooking, gardening etc, etc, and I'm studying. There's never enough hours in the day. I agree with omdb, I do the cereal thing. I try to be as organised as poss, always stick the washing machine on when the luandry basket is full, I make packed lunches for school the night before while dinner is cooking. (I always make 2 days worth of lunches at a time) I do some ironing while dinner is cooking or early in the morning during rush for school. I like to have my evenings to myself. Also get my dc to help out with loading unloading dishwasher, putting washing machine on.
