Managing your money, do you do it weekly monthly or what ??

I know most people work out their bills over the month and then divide it over weeks and put a certain amount up each week but I find that if I do this I never get a week when I can afford to do anything other than pay bills.

I tend to just write the bill amounts in my diary for the month when they come in, and if one week the phone bill is due then I pay that that week, Then the next week I might not have a bill due and so will buy whatever I need to buy.

Am I making sense ??

The thing is, neither seems to work all of the time.

I think the problem is that I need more money LOL.

have a look here for a free downloadable budget planner. It's pretty good as it lists everything and gives you a good picture of what you can and can't spend.

I also keep a daily spending diary in my bag, i write down literally everything i spend, whether it's 10p or £10 and list what it's for. At the end of the week/month this would gove you a good idea where you can cut back. It also makes you think about what you are spending.

I pay it quarterly, but I put the money aside every month for it. I get the interest that way!

my plan is to have two bank accounts and pay x amount into one each week to coinside with bills - so say bills rent etc come to i dunno 500 then i pay what 125 a week into it

(Rough amounts lol)

Then in the account i get paid in is left the money i can touch so this goes to food, any bills what aren't direct debit, and other spending
