Rogue Male....

....the "Dadsnet" section seemed over laddish even to a desensitized soul like myself, so (despite being distinctly male) have stuck my head over this particular parapet!

I've four unruly urchins to myself since the lovely (if fearsome) Mrs F snuffed it two tears ago. I have been a regular of "Widowed" sites, these are now too miserable for my tastes. "Lone Parent" sites seem primarily to discuss the CSA and swapping council houses (not for me, either!) and sites for Dads are either bivouac-in-the-woods-bonding nonsense or for those who wear Superman outfits atop public buildings. Again, not me...

...it was suggested to me that this might be a more suitable place to air my nonsense on the lonely long evenings. Despite being ostensibly for Mums only I can't find anywhere else more suitable!

Is it suitable? Or can anyone direct me to a website for male widowed lone parents of four unruly primary boys?

(I have Googled this with predictable results...)

....I am easily scared, and a very timid soul. All the more so after returning from Center Parcs with the urchins. I borrowed two girls from a friend for the trip (supposedly as a civilizing influence) so have had 4 and a half days of "relaxation" with six (count 'em) kids in tow...

The wedding present album was duly downloaded at 00.05 am. The saddest thing is, I had a copy on order from Amazon, but couldn't bear to wait for it to arrive...

I claim full geek status!

(and yes, I can guess your identity "Mummy2"! Fellow refugee from the miseryguts sites. Indeed, it was your mention that made me look here...)

We just got back from Center Parcs too, though we went last weekend and it seems a million miles away now as I sit here at work starig at the clock. We had a great time but got extremly soaked on Sunday.

Which one did you go too? We went to Elvedon as it's closer to us, but would be interested in hearing what some of the others are like as they can be a little cheaper price wise. But then with petrol prices the way they are driving less far might actually still be cheaper overall!

ChasingSquirrels · 30/05/2008 23:31

was Elveden good Gilly? We aren't a million miles away either. Friends used to go for a day pass to see friends of their's who went regularly, and we have day passes as one of the prizes at our school fair this year - could be fun for the boys if I won.

Was excellent. I felt so relaxed and stress free, first time in a very long time I have to say! Waking up to ducks pecking on the window waiting to be fed and squirrels running across the chalet roof.

Next time we go I could maybe let you know and you can come along as day pass 'guests' and do your own thing or whatever! I posted more on the other thread which I should probably have posted here and hijacked this thread instead! There are some brilliant late deals going if you can wait till the last min to book. I'm waiting to find out when next years next non pupil day will be and will check out the prices then so we can make the most of the friday.

I was infact thinking of going for my son's birthday next year, maybe booking a 3 bed this time, and have my friend with her husband and 2 boys stay with us and inviting say 4 friends on day passes (which are £30 for an adult and child) and having that instead of a 'party'. Just got to wait on a good last minute deal now so I can afford it. Oh and start saving up!

I can't wait to go back to be honest. Even if I did ache all over from the physical exercision which I haven't done so much of in far too long! If i could afford that deal they have going in june I'd have booked it as soon as we got back.

Gilly

sounds great, we have just got back from a week in cornwall - booked pre-split, took my mum with us, and had such a lovely time.
will definately bear CP in mind for a short break.
Thanks
