I'm at a loss, and hoping someone can help guide me.
I am 38 yrs old with a 4 year old child.
On Friday my ex partner evicted me and my child from his home, he has brought my child up since a baby.
I was also pregnant and since had to have a termination as was panicked with no money as was made redundant last month. I wasn't able to get a rental due to my job loss.
We have come to my parents 1.5 hours away, with our bags. I ideally don't want to stay here as my life is back home, my child is due to start school there in September.
The housing team are calling tomo about putting us in hotels etc and going down homeless route. This scares me as what if the father of my child gets involved? He only has her 2 nights a month as lives in a different part of country.
Do social services get involved? As I haven't been able to provide my child a home.
Do I give everything up there that I love to stay with family and start again.
I cannot believe this is my life, I was so happy 4 weeks ago, and my world has turned upside down!

Social services would only get involved if there was a safeguarding issue, not because you're now living with your parents temporarily.

When you say the thought of getting help from the housing team scares you because your ex might get involved, where did he think you were going to live with no job and a small child? Are you worried he will apply to the court to be the resident parent?

It's a big upheaval, take it one step at a time and try to trust that things will work out, even if you can't see the destination from here. Accept the support of your family, that might be the best spot for you both for now while you get back on your feet?

Thank you for responding,

I am worried her father could go for full residency if I was in temporary accommodation? He is court ordered to have her 2 nights per month as he lives 4 hours away.
I'm just worrying over everything I think and knowing what to do for the best.
I want to stay in current area as my child has her nursery and school space pending. However this will mean temp accommodation.
If I decide to stay with parents 1.5hrs I have to start all over again with no friends, etc. x

What a tough time OP. See what the temp accommodation is like. Are you not on decent terms with your ex? Does he pay child maintainance?

I don't think SS would get involved you haven't done anything wrong and you have a support system which is your parents currently.

Secondly courts won’t award him full custody if you are in temporary accommodation. They rarely ever award full custody unless there is serious safe guarding concerns - ie proven abuse etc.
He made you homeless so how can he then take you to court for being homeless? The court won’t like that. They also don’t see temporary accommodation as an issue as it’s accommodation provided by the council. As long as you have a place to wash and put your child to sleep, that’s okay. Social services may be involved but again it’s beneficial as they can actually push for you to be housed quicker. They are also great at extra support should you need it. Please don’t believe that social services will come and take your child if they are involved, that rarely ever happens unless again there’s serious safe guarding concerns.
If you are in temporary accommodation dad will not be notified. Court applications also take months unless he files an emergency application but then again I doubt he will! Good luck and please join that group!x

Sorry I read the post wrong. Just notify dad of the changes to housing. Not much can be done unless you make alternative arrangements to travel to and from him for contact x
