Csa - payment advice

Dad, has 2 children - both to separate ladies.

Earns in the region of £28,000. Neither child spends the night with him.

I've done the CSA calc and it's significantly higher than what he pays me (private settlement). It estimates in the region of £180 per child per month.

Is this definitely right? Is it likely to be that amount (ish) or would other things affect it significantly?

Currently receiving less than half of that!

I've applied for CSA but he wants to do private as they take too much "admin" fees!

Would prefer to do it privately, but also prefer CSA then it's out of my hands.

Any advice?

They won't take admin fees if he uses the direct pay option with CMS. It means you've gone via CMS but he pays you directly rather than them taking the money from him.

That sounds like he knows exactly what he should be paying but hopes you will just accept his word for it! If you’re certain that’s his wage and it’s regular then 100% go for CSA!

Ah OK, I've opened a case, but said no ti that option. Maybe I should enable the option...

I'm not certain, but I know it was that ball park years ago.

If he doesn't want to pay "admin fees", he should pay a reasonable sum. The truth is he doesn't want to pay either one.

He's had his chance. So just let the CM system deal with it now.

He's probably just trying to get away with paying less OP

I paid a one-off £20 admin fee, every year they review ex's income and send a new payment schedule and ex amends his direct debit/ standing order, money well spent I think.

It only costs more in admin if they collect it for you.
Id imagine ex is on similar earnings he has two children one he lives with and our shared child who never sleeps over and I receive £225 a month.

Best option is this, have CMS calculate and he just transfers you that amount each month. If CMS collect money from him to pass on to you there will be fees, he will pay more than what’s calculated but you will receive slightly less as you’ll get it deducted before you receive it

They won't go straight to collect and pay anyway even if you choose it they always give a choice of direct pay first so there will be no fees. I know this as my ex just tried to do it for my son that's fine to live with him and force the fees on me.
