Special expenses variation from CMS

Does anyone have any experience with these?
Basically my ex moved 100 miles away from the kids to live in his new wife's house. Our court order states he is to do all of the driving since he moved away and he's hated it ever since. He's.now files a special expenses variation with CMS to get my child support lowered by £50 a week (almost half, he now pays £70 a week for our 2 kids)
He filed it last year, I have my evidence and they declined it, I guess he refiled it and today I've had a letter it was approved. How can they do this and what are my chances of appealing it and getting it removed? I can't find much online aside from other dad's complaining that when they filed they got barely anything so I can't understand why they've given him his entire petrol costs (which are vastly overstated) so I'm effectively now paying for him to come and see the kids. I spent an hour on hold today to speak to them but the person I spoke to didn't know much about it, told me to file an appeal online which I can't do, so I will try again tomorrow!

Had this with my ex.
Unfortunately i was told its correct, the court order states he's to collect but as it then cost him to travel he claimed it back. If i remember correctly it was 27p per mile? A few years ago now.

Hi,
the paying parent can claim travel expenses if over £10 per week. Unfortunately some of us lose money due to that plus have to pay doing half the handovers ourselves as well. It’s a MESS.

Yes. My ex moved 400 miles away and filed a variation. I used to meet him part way at a service station on the motorway but stopped doing that when he filed the variation. No one was paying for my petrol.

I appealed stating that it was unfair that not only had DD's father moved 400 miles away but that she was expected to pay for him to travel to her out of money that was intended to feed and clothe her.

Of course it was rejected. If you ever wonder about what kind of a patriarchal society we are living in you just have to become a single mother and see the breathtakingly unequal way men and women are treated when approaching the care of their shared child.

Its beyond a joke isn't it, my ex's has been granted based.on him doing the journey 26 times a year, even if he had them every time he was meant to per our court order it isn't that many due to school holidays etc and multiple times he's come in a sports minibus that he pays no fuel for. I put all of this in my response and they granted it anyway and I've now had a letter that he's claiming he has the kids over 100 nights a year to reduce it even more which is pure nonsense (again, we have a court order that equates to 92 nights IF he has them every time and last year there were 2 entire months he didn't see them at all and multiple others it was only once.
