What does it mean when your relationships always end with you declaring how much you love them and them leaving you?

Especially if the relationship never actually started?

I have a feeling this means I am too needy...?

how to avoid it? It's killing me. It happens every time - except the times when they are a nob and I leave them.

Something is very wrong somewhere!

how long is before it started

...give me a yell when you find out....

sometimes i feel like this too - i don't seem to have the upper hand in this respect a lot either. wrong blokes maybe?????

Flight · 17/03/2008 21:10

I knew him since I was 15. He's been saying he loves me for years. As soon as I said it back he freaked I think.

I think it means you haven't found the right guy yet, that's all.

davidtennantsmistress · 17/03/2008 21:14

yep wrong guy, not good enough next!

ZippiBabes · 17/03/2008 21:14

or you just wait until everything else just makes it obvious that that is how you both ffeel

my experience here is limited lol

I would say have a look a you relationships with your parents and how your role was defined in your family. Say for example you father left you you may subconsciously looking for someone who will leave you. Maybe get some counselling to work out some unresolved issues. Good book called women who love too much (or something).
When you've worked through your issues and work out the characteristics that are attracting you to the wrong guys (commitment phobes) and give other guys a try.

Or if you didn't want the deep and complicated answer -just forget him and move on you'll find someone that is good for you.

Works both ways: My ex said after she left that she always knew that I would never leave her and would never look at another woman.

She told me she knew that I'd never abandon our son - right up until the point she stopped him seeing me at all.

Then again she's the same ex who told me that I loved her more than she loved me, she loved her parents and her horse more than me, so I suppose I was the (no long) romantic idiot in this case.

Flight · 18/03/2008 08:58

Wtf, Losty? Her horse?

lol, if it wasn't so dreadful. She sounds a bit of a nut.

God what did she do with her horse?

yurt1 · 18/03/2008 09:03

Flight I had a relationship like that years ago. If I backed off, he would come on, if I responded he'd then run a mile. I looked like a loon - but others didn't see how he responded when I backed off.

It taught me a lot actually and am quite grateful for the experience. Sort of taught me ultimately I have control over things and don't have to get involved in silly games if I don't want to (in any aspect of life).

lostdad · 18/03/2008 09:07

lol - like I say, I used to be a romantic soul. She had wanted a horse all her life...so I encouraged her to get one.

Bit of a nut? Well - that depends. She gets more time riding it since she divorced me, so it's all relevant isn't it?!

yurt1 · 18/03/2008 09:08

PMSL.

Flight · 18/03/2008 09:18

Oh Losty I think I like you. Mind you if I ever get another motorbike I might love it more than you

OP posts:
lostdad · 18/03/2008 09:27

What's worse is...I miss the horse!

As for motorbikes - well my ex hated the things and never wanted me to learn to ride. Which, now I am single again I naturally feel the urge to do!

Flight · 18/03/2008 09:33

This is looking up
