Sixth form

My daughter started sixth form last week. She has now decided she wants to change schools because she wants to do religious studies, and because her friends go to that school. I wouldn’t mind this if the other school wasn’t two bus journeys away, and if we hadn’t just spent £300 on smart clothes (there is a dress code at her current school).

The current school is a 20 minute walk away, the new sixth form will be roughly £800 per year in bus travel costs (I can’t drive because of health reasons)

Am I wrong to expect her to get a part time job to pay toward the bus fees, as she is choosing to go to a school out of our area? Or is that just my responsibility as a parent?

She can be quite lazy at times, so I am concerned how she is going to get to school on time, every morning getting two buses in all weathers.

I won’t lie, I was hoping she’d just settle nicely at her current school as it is so close by. Parenting never seems to be straight forward

Would the new school take her? Is her other two subject options available there?

Does the new school have a dress code? How does their Ofsteds compare? Post 16 destinations?

The new school will take her, no dress code. Subjects would be the same, other than dropping geography to start RS. Ofsteds are both similar, although the school she wants to go to struggle to retain their staff. All of the subjects she is taking now and at the new school get her where she wants to be after Alevels
