Just tell yourself that breakfast in bed only leads to ketchup on the sheets

Pinkchampagne · 02/03/2008 23:08

This is a nice thread, FF. Didn't see it earlier as was watching wife swap!

I have had a pants mothers day, so was well & truly on the wine too!

Happy mothers day to you too.

PIL helped my kids make cards and buy flowers so I got a nice surprise when I went round to PIL.

My surprise for everyone was the undercooked roast chicken , a gift thatwill last a few days at least.

Ds was a camp this weekend, he was telling me that when the boys had free time and went to the shop there were quite a few that were buying cards and chocs for their mums, I thought that was really sweet .

I got sod all, not a card, text, nothing from my ex on behalf of DD, who is 8months. Not how I envisaged my first mothers day, but we went out for a picnic anyway and had a nice day regardless. I won't retaliate though. On fathers day he will have a card from her.

charlotte121 · 03/03/2008 23:19

my xp didnt send anything from our son, however my mum wrote me a card and my best m8 slipped one under the door which made me smile lots. I got the added gift of my screaming, tantrum queen 2 yr old niece all day, what a joY!!!

My Ds is 9 now and Dd 14 months.
When Ds was a baby(my very first mothers day), I didn't get a card and it broke my heart...I wasn't with his father, but no one else bothered either.
Last year, my Dd was just 3 months and I didn't get a card from her dad(we are together, but not living together, so I'm sort of single mum-may as well be most of the time anyway).
Men just don't get the emotional sentiment that we Mums want and need.
This year however! I got TWO cards. One from my son who'd put him and sister on it, and another from Dp who'd put both kids on(Ds is not his)...Woo Hoo! People, there is hope for all of us.
