Practical advice : new job role

I have successfully got a higher paid role, much more responsibility but much more money. Which is fabulous. I used to do 4 days a week compressed hours but new role is 5 days and more days in the office.
My sons dad has finally got a job after a year, so dropped all Mon to Friday before/after school care alst week, he used to do 2 days afterschool till 5pm...helpful. Will still have him 1 weekend or so a month but just the Sat and Sunday.
I've made arrangments for after school care 4 days a week and 1 day I'll do flexi from work to collect him. My mom can help and do some morning school runs and I can access before school club.
My concern is its extra hours so how will I manage the house, garden, food shop etc around my 4 year old son.
How does everyone else manage their time?

If you're earning more money can you throw some at the problem? I have a cleaner and she saves me so much stress! I also do things like shop online when kids are in the bath, do a quick wipe round the kitchen/ take the bin out when the dinners on, that sort of thing.
Going from compressed hours to 5 days should make your evenings feel a bit longer hopefully!

Not much advice I'm afraid as I'm in same situation with out the extra money... so I echo the paying for help advice... this would make my life loads easier... food deliveries, a cleaner, someone to cut the grass etc etc.

Its a big hike in responsibility and I'm still studying a degree, work funded alongside.
Yes cleaner (I loathe cleaning tbh) or maybe Gardner? I find garden harder to keep ontop of than house as I can't leave my son alone relaly as he's only 4 or garden at 9pm.
How much are cleaners now and how many hours would work really?

Do you batch cook? Or is it pesto past n jacket spuds? Maybe a slow cooker for office days? I find getting him in at 5.30 then dinner while it's a race till bedtime to get it done and reading etc

Depends how exhausted I am!!
When I'm on top of my game slow cooker it's in use... otherwise have a few speedy dinners under my belt... omelette, jacket potato, pasta, chicken nuggets 😂
In an ideal world I'd batch cook but no time snd no freezer space

I know a lot of people who swear by hello fresh/gusto 10 min meals on working days.

I batch cook, have a soup & pudding dinner one night to make it easier.

Wish mine would take school dinners so I could do a lighter dinner but DD is fussy & my DS is a hungry teenager so needs 2 big meals a day.

Meal planning helps.

I do laundry on the night they go to their dads & EOW.

Cleaning not a big priority - tend to do that when they are at their dad's too.

I would suggest looking for a good cleaner - 2 hours per week ideally but I've also had 3 hours fortnightly too. Do an online shop, batch cooking if possible and use short cuts if needed
