CMS and deduction of earnings order

Hiya

Does anyone know what happens when the paying parent leaves their job? We have no contact. He is a horrible person who walked out on his child and responsibilities nearly 7 years ago now and has no contact with him. A DOE order was set up as he refused to pay as he said he saw it as giving me money and not his child. It was paid shit to be honest by his employer but he was employed the whole time and the account built up arrears. Now I have no idea where he has moved to or if he is going self employed. I've seen comments good luck in your new job etc and have seen that he has moved far away but still in the UK.
Now I'm scared how the DOE order will transfer over or if it will? The loss of maintenance when it is clear he is moving to a new job would be crippling financially with the cost of living out of control. I've stripped EVERYTHING back as it is.

Does anyone know what happens when a paying parent moves jobs and has a deduction of earnings order?

Thank you

Does anyone know the best way to contact the CMS if you arent able to call during their opening hours due to being at work? They are no longer open past 4pm M-F and not over the weekend.

You need to go on your online account and send a message regarding this
it should transfer as it’s linked to his national insurance number and dwp obviously have direct links to hmrc in terms of salaries wages
if he’s not working though then it will be a pittance if that and he’s is self employed that can take a long time to deal with. If they do.
tje cms is a toothless beast for much of the time

Thank you @Whiskeypowers that's abit if light that it should transfer over.
I will send a message though as it's really panicked me. I cant afford to take the loss. His the kind of person who will love the fact that this will affect me and our life which is minimal already

If his earnings have reduced by 25% he can request a variation and if self employed he'll argue this mosr definitely and you'd have no recourse as no employer.

I'll be amazed if he has moved to a new area and from a highly secure job for less money. He has always earned money on the side though so the SE is a worry as I know then I won't stand a chance. So I'm hoping he is still employed. From congratulatory comments I've seen it would seem his is PAYE employed and moving into an area of interest more suitable to his level and experience. I'll give it him, he has 4 degrees now. He is very clever. 2 of which he has obtained whilst paying a small amount of maintenance to my son. The cost of the courses (i found through bitterness of him being able to improve himself whilst I've been left to struggle) amount to more than the maintenance my son would receive over 18 years if it stayed at the same rate. So I don't really know how his managed to afford it given the basis of what his maintenance was calculated.
Fingers crossed its as straightforward as it can be. And that he is PAYE.
Would it take time for a new DOE arrangement to he set up or will it just transfer?
I sent a message online earlier requesting information. I am concerned also it has changed to direct payments and not collect and pay. We haven't spoke properly since January 2016. We exchanged some emails a in 2019 or 2020 with me requesting permission to travel but I have no idea how a direct pay can be set up with there is absolutely no contract between us.
