Ok,had the bright idea to get a sette from Ikea yesterday, and almost broke my toe when trying to assemble it as the huge, heavy backrest dropped down on it!Still, after about 1.5 hr of cussing the damn thing,it was all looking like it should and fully functioning, not bad considering it was my first ever try on with a flatpack(the ex always used to take care of these things),and I felt some strange kind of achievment2Yes,I did not need a man for this!",lol.

Then the worst thing happened, was looking forward to a quiet celebration with just me and my little girl.We went out to the shops when everything started to spin,I could not see where I was going, could not speak, and my head felt like it was going to blow up.Yes,for the first time in over 6 years I went and got myself a migraine attack, and on New Years Eve of all days!
My 5 yearold was brilliant, she lead me home by the hand(as I could not see where I was going!),then I was doped up on the strongest painkillers you could possible find, and by the time the new year rang in,I got back to somekind of normality.Tried to send the ex a txt in case I'd get real bad,but thank god I never managed to send it,as it looked like some kind of encrypted code!God knows what happens to the brain when you get a migraine, but it's like your brain's on leave!
Every cloud has a silver linignt hough, have read that botox is probably the only proven migraine preventative,so I can banish my furrowlines and migraines in one go!lol

oh tetti that sounds awful

Do you get migraines a lot? if so - go to the doc and get some pills - they are anti-sickness and keep your system going because in a migraine, general stuff like digestion packs up so any pills you take won't work

Take the anti-sickness with pain killers means they get digested properly.

All that comes from a monthly migraine sufferer (booohoo)

Hope you feel better today

Thank you for the kind advice,it must be terrible suffering from such frequent attacks,I used to,but many years ago, thought I'd seen the back of them when I got pregnant almost 6 years ago,no idea what brought them back now.Am seriously considering botox for it,at least it PREVENTS it,I work with kids, and if I get a migraine attack as a sole carer of these children I've had it.It may cost 200 quid or so,but what I'd lose in wages is alot more...

they are called metachlopramide (metta-c-low-pra-mide is how you say it cos I keep mispronouncing it!)

Must be cheaper to try that first!

God knows what happens to the brain when you get a migraine, but it's like your brain's on leave!

All the wee blood vessels about your brainicle get swollen and pissed off. Causes all the flashy lights, feeling like crap and anything else you care to name, as well as that ever present pounding pain that comes in waves.

As has been said, if you can neck some anti-sickness pills before your painkillers do so, it means the painkillers have chance to work as the migraine shuts your stomach down. I find vomiting more effective as it's a quicker route to getting things working, but that's just me.

Hope you're okay and you don;t have another attack for a long time.

Agnes
