CSA payments and family tax credits

Just wondering if anyone can help me here. I'm not a single parent but thought you guys might have more of an idea of how this works. Here's the situation. DP has DC's with his ex and at the mo is paying a lot to her through the CSA as well as arrears (he was paying before as well as seeing them on 50:50 basis but she has denied this and the CSA don't believe him). She, as far as we know is getting family tax credits and no other benefits. Does she actually get the money he's paying including the arrears or will she only be getting a small amount of this?

If she is working, then she will be getting the whole lot. FTC would be classing the CSA payments as an 'income'

yes she would get the whole lot and maintenance isnt included in the tax credit assessment

Great, thanks guys. That's good to hear, at least the CSA aren't stealing the money!
