Anyone worrying about the rising costs of life

I know this is money related but im aiming it more towards single parents. I know everyone will be feeling the pinch but as a one income household it's making me feel sick.

I recently posted about taking my son on holiday. Luckily I have been able to save over the last few years to be able to take him next year. However I am now feeling like I cant justify taking him away.

I read tonight that household bills are set to rise a further £1500 a year! I'm already feeling a huge strain financially and the thought of it getting worse is making me feel ill. I have pounds left a month so what the hell are people meant to do?
We have no social life, no luxuries. Live hand to mouth.
It makes me feel shit to be honest and scared that it's going to get worse.
You get yourself to a place where you feel you can manage with what you have, then it gets ripped away from you.

I work in a low paid job. 30 hours but unable to work more. Constantly looking for a new job. Intermittent/insulting maintenance payments paid via CMS (DoE) and tax credits top up.

Fuming for you. Honestly AngryAngryAngry who makes up these shitty decisions. Clearly people who have no fucking clue with reality!

I apologise for swearing but some things, these things make me so angry

My ExH pays £30 a month (£7.50ish a week) I know full well he works close to full time but most of the money is cash in hand. He also will knock money off if he takes out anywhere - whether it be a friends party (the present and fuel to get there) or even his own families events like weddings.

CMS don't care, they tell me not to rely on the money and as he's contributing they won't do anything.

I've had months with nothing at all.

Job centre don't care, I get UC top up and they tell me to ask my ExH for a bigger contribution when I say we've gone through CMS they shrug and say he needs to pay more.

I work but with the UC uplift going, the NI increase and cost of living going up I need to find an extra £200 a month. No idea where it'll come from.

Working more won't make me better off as I have to pay more in childcare - I already pay the holiday club company throughout the year to have any chance of affording it.

@HereHeGoes I'm so sorry you are going through this too.

I need a similar amount a month too to feel like im able to keep us as we were living which was basic I will add. I too have no idea where this will come from yet we have no choice

Going to be tough all round. DH has broken his shoulder and cant work so now on SSP. Then told his workplace was closing and all being made redundant. He's been there less than 2 years so no payout.
Wish I had 1500 savings to fall back on but nothing like that much.

It's got worse. Wonder when things will settle. I predict an expensive 2022.

I am lucky as with Utikity Warehouse and my dual fuel bill has not risen at all.

Utility

I also think things will be worser in 2022. The last week I've been off work/school and only had the heating on twice. Mostly been sat wrapped in blankets and wearing a coat
