Life insurance

A question for lone parents - do you have life insurance? I’m 37 and don’t have life insurance, I saw an ad the other day about it being cheaper if I took it out before I’m 40.

It’s one more monthly payment I could do without but also I would like to have something in place to provide for my child in the future. Financially I earn around £26000 and rent privately though I’m hoping to buy in the next couple of years. I have around £3000 on credit cards but could pay it off quite quickly. Is it worth having?

Definitely check death in service from your employer. Mine pays 3x salary.
I have a policy my ex and I took out years ago. He won't sign it over to me so if I die the money goes to him - fine - he can use it to raise our DD. The flip side is that if he dies I get the money 💰
