Ex DH changing contact times

afternoonnapping · 08/08/2020 17:39

I have a DS with my ex DH. We have had the same drop off times for the last 6 years. This works well and fits around my work (meetings rather than shift patterns) and also fits around my other DS' sports team fixtures (not my ex's child). Our DS also knows what time he is coming and going to his Dad's.

Things are currently not good with my ex. Amongst other things, he is now demanding that the drop off times are changed to a time that is completely unsuitable for me and my DS.

I have said I can not accommodate this change and explained why and I have been told tough, he will be bringing him back when he says.

Is there anything I can do? There is not a court order in place.

Well if he brings your DS back and you are not there he is just going to have to hang on to him until you return. He will soon realise that this will be a massive pain in the ass for him. How old is your DS?

Then times don’t work so he won’t be taking him in the first place

AnneLovesGilbert · 08/08/2020 21:05

What’s his reason?

afternoonnapping · 08/08/2020 21:43

@AnneLovesGilbert He hasn't given me a reason other than 'things change'?

The chances are I won't be in when he tries to return him at the weekend and then my poor DS will be going backwards and forwards. I will also go no end of grief from my ex DH.

My DS is 7.

Could you say you are not at home at the time ex has stated but collect your son from his at the usual time?

afternoonnapping · 09/08/2020 09:31

@Sayitaintsoiwillnotgo He says it has to be changed to the time he wants to, no discussion

So frustrating when people cannot look past their own arguments and put their child first. They should never be used as weapons like your ex is doing. I hope this evening went ok for you OP.
