Child maintenance-2 questions

PrincessButtercuppp · 07/07/2020 19:54

1)Should bonuses be included in child maintenance calculations if they are annual rather than monthly? My ex has calculated what the minimum he is going to pay is but without this being taken into account as it doesn't automatically ask you this on the calculator.

  1. on the nights he has them, I am currently finishing work early and collecting them from school so he can collect them at 5 from my house. I am also paying for them to be in childcare on the following morning. Is this fair or should I stop that?

His days are his days. He should be handling pickup and childcare.

If his bonuses go through his PAYE and are taxed. Then that is part of his annual income.

CMS is calculated in his income before tax and NI. But after pension deductions.

As for childcare depends if you want to play hard ball. His days his problem. And he should be paying breakfast club for his mornings.

Sorry I don't know about bonuses, but on his night it should be him leaving work early, or making other arrangements for them after school. Your effectively damaging your career to facilitate his.

The maintenance he pays reduced for the number of nights he has them, in recognition of the costs (both expenses or lost earnings) of having the children. If you're the one bearing the costs, as well as losing money, it's not fair.

If he hadn't declared it to the cms I would call them and make them aware.

  1. is very cheeky. He needs to pay for after school care or leave work early. If the children are at a holiday scheme during half-term/school holidays then he needs to pick up from there at 3:30 (I'm assuming that school ends then)

Make sure you find out from school September times for coming out of school. Most schools are staggering leaving time so he will have to leave even earlier on his days.
