Looking at doing this on my own in the new year. But confused as to the rules of UC working allowance etc. Wondered if someone had an easy answer?

I work p/t and don't want to increase my hours as doesn't work out any better once childcare costs deducted etc. I earn just under £800 from that a month. What's my entitlement then to any further help? (obviously this isn't enough to live off on ym own with a child with no savings)

Thanks in advance

You will get a standard rate with is made u of rent child alliance and yours I have 2 children and mines about 1500 a month the first 287 pound u earn is yours then for every pound u earn over that they take 63p off u if you go on the turn to us website they have a calculation to input ur details and it tells you what your entitled to with UC u don't need to tell them your income as they check with HMRC every month and pay u based on what's been reported bto them x

Look on the turn to us website. If you have savings over £6k, that will affect payment. If your children are aged between 5 and 13 you will need to be working 25 hours per week or earning the equivalent of 25 hours at minimum wage per week, otherwise they will be expecting you to look for more hours.
