Temporary accommodation

Hi everyone,
I have basically been placed in a one bedroom temporary accommodation since giving birth to my son. He was born in April. I am a single parent who works (currently on maternity leave). The flat has many issues, below I'll list the problems:
Not an adequate amount of water supply as it cuts off after I fill up the bath.
Separate taps in the bath so I have to throw buckets of water on myself. I attached a shower head but the water pressure is not strong enough to come through.
I have a glass front door which gives me anxiety as I keep thinking someone can break in easily.
My area is noisy and I don't feel comfortable going out alone as it feels unsafe.
I have problems getting in and out of the bath as my sciatica kicks in after I sit in the bath.
I've also caught a lot of mice!
I've had to reach out for a lot of support since giving birth as I'm really struggling.
The council refuse to change anything in the flat as it is temporary. I'm allowed to bid on two bedroom properties but it may take years as there are hundreds of people ahead of me.
My anxiety has increased and my sciatica (back pain) has got worse since I moved here.
The circulation in my flat is very poor as the window from the entrance side only opens a tiny bit because of safety.
I have no idea what to do anymore. I want to get out of here as soon as I can.
Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi op, sorry your going through this I'm currently in temp accommodation with my 2dcs, it's really hard, have you contacted the council or the temp housing team about this?

What was your previous job? Are you able to arrange childcare then go back to work and save up to rent? I believe some councils offer deposit schemes etc.

@Mummyoftwo91 I have contacted them, my housing officer won't do anything for me as he said I accepted the property as it was. The day I viewed the flat I obviously didn't run the water enough and my back pain wasn't this bad! It got a lot worse since I had my son. Hope you move soon! Best of luck.

@Contraceptionismyfriend I did consider renting from the private sector but my income won't be enough hence why I went through the council to get accommodation. I work in retail, I enjoy what I do and I have till April to think about child care. I may go back part time and get help from family.

If you are talking years I would be looking at an alternative solution , using universal credit, cheaper area .

You could also get supporting medical information may help a little but unlikely to be a huge difference.

@Starlight456 I have no friends or family outside this borough and once I go back to work then they can support me at least. In a bit of a pickle.

I think you will just have to grin and bear it. Temporary acc is never going to be nice
