Ex claiming benefits

Hi, my ex is fraudulently claiming benefits for our daughter who lives with me, all our daughters benefits (via universal credit) have been placed on hold for up to 2 months whilst someone looks at the evidence of where our daughter lives.

Whilst dropping of our daughter from contact today she took her birth certificate without permission to provide as evidence for housing benefit, what can I do to stop her?

My daughter is only 3 months old, and I was due to go back to work part time soon, but have now passed this opportunity as without child tax credits I can no longer afford the nursery fees.

How can I stop her recurring claims for benefits???

If your baby is so young, can't your health visitor vouch for you?

It sounds like a slightly unusual set up. I think (but may be wrong/outdated) that Child Benefit is paid to the mother unless otherwise stated.
I know CB is used as a marker of residency, so I’d start with that.
Is there any kind of court order regarding who the child lives with? That would be helpful in proving residency.
Have I understood right that the child doesn’t live with her mother?

Our daughter lives with me under recommendation of social services until court makes it official.

Ask Ss to write to them. Your MP may also be helpful. I was in a dispute also with a benefit cheating ex..

In which case, is there something in writing from SS you can send off to the tax credits people?

Hi I am a dad with a court order and my son lives with me full time. I receive working and child tax credit as I am the main career for the child. You may have to prove you are the interim career for the child while the court preceding are being arranged. I would get a cover letter from the childrens services signed by the case manager along with contact details. Also I would keep any letter/emails regarding her false claiming of benefits to take along to the court.. include this in your case against her, It will not look good and prove she is only looking out for her self rather then the child.Hope you manage to sort it out.
