Problem with contact with childrens mother

just a quick backround, have had full custody of my 3 children (all under 6) for the last 2.5years. the mother is supposed to see them every friday overnight. in the last 2.5 years i have worked out she averages only 1 friday a month, various excuses every week there has been a period were she hasnt seen the children for 5 weeks striaght. the 2 oldest children are now at the point were they actually do not want to stay the night when she decides to have them this obviously is upsetting for me as i dont want them not seeing thier mother or losing contact etc with her but i am at the point where i feel maybe i would be best to go back to court and state my point that i feel contact should be reduced as it isnt any good to any one the inconsistency of it all. my worry is however i dont want to be the one to have to tell the children in the future that i was the one who stopped contact, any ideas on how to handle this?

just to note the children dont ask to see her or speak about her they dont seem affected by it at all.

It's a hard one. I can relate.
I'm in Scotland and was advised the sheriff will ask xh what contact he can actually commit to.
It's such a rejection for them to be mucked about with.
Wrt talking to the DC about it I tried to be neutral and said from my impression it wasn't working the way it was so I needed a 3rd party to have a look at it and decide something fair that would work for the DC.

really tough. ive always bent over backwards to let her see all 3 maybe a little too much leniency on my part .

I'm the same.
It got to the point though where I could see it was affecting the children and I had to stand up for them.
I'm still in the middle of it.
But I feel less like I'm not sticking up for them.

I hate confrontation...

i no what you mean, its a balance between letting them see thier mum and protecting them from it all. i hate saying no because dont want to play the bad one but part of me thinks it would be best for there to be no contact .
