Anyone else not feeling it? Everything is far too raw. I usually love this time of year, but everywhere I look are memories of us all together and I just feel too crushed, rejected, sad and angry to feel I can fake a smile through it all for the kids. I don't think I'd ever fully realised how 2 adult 2 child orientated all Christmas adverts/promos/days out etc were either Sad

Trying to take a deep breath here.

Sorry you're feeling this way OP. I'm not a line parent so I have no advice, I just thought I'd give you a friendly bump up the active threads Flowers

Bump OP

Not in your shoes as I have never had the 2.4 thing. DD's dad left early in the pregnancy and he has refused to ever even meet her. But you are right, so much of life seems set up for families. Lone parenting (in my case 100%) is isolating. Which is weird, there are so many LPs in the country and the vast majority women. Maybe we are all stuck indoors dealing with daily chores and such. We should at least have solidarity on here.

I think my best advice to you, is at this time of year grab some fleecy blankets, snuggle down with your DC and focus on them, take it easy and don't push yourselves to do much of anything, find some simple time and treats. And see it as 'year one', try out some new things that could become your new traditions. I'm saying this as someone who was tearful about my own situation even half an hour ago so by no means wishing to sound trite.
