Ex (DDs father) not had contact for over a year, but his parting shot was to say if he ever saw me or my family again, he'd kill us. It's coming up to DDs birthday, I've been on tenterhooks for a few weeks (he chucked water over us in bed once and very verbal but has not been physically violent apart from the one incident) he's an alcoholic and has a screw loose.

I can see his purchases on eBay for some reason - they come up on my iPad as notifications. I'm not on his account it's logged off and I don't know the password. But anyway.... just found out he's bought a knuckle duster!!!! What the hell do i do! I've only just got up the point of not barricading the doors when we go to bed! What about my family! What do I do? Of course it could be an innocent purchase! (WTAF!) Any advise would be really useful right now!! TIA x

Phone the police non-emergency number and ask for advice/help.

It is an offence to make, sell, or import a knuckle duster in the UK. It is also an offence to be in possession of one in a public place. .

Given the history, I certainly think the Police would be interested in having a chat with him. I'd strongly advise calling 101 and asking for advice - the Police will be able to help provide you with safety advice, they can put you in touch with domestic abuse charities, and I think there's a pretty good chance that they'd go and speak to him (he hasn't committed an offence just by buying it - but there is no legitimate reason to be doing so).

Thanks for the responses. Apparently I have to be vigilant! Great :(
