Hi everyone,

I’m looking to move out of my parents house and into my own flat with my daughter. I’m currently working part time so I’m entitled to universal housing allowance. How do I go about it once I find somewhere to live? Thanks ladies xxx

Hi! Just posting to say i’ll be in same shoes soon. Wondering when I should move out too? My parents would have me stay living with them but I’m wondering about having my own space what what would be best ect. I’m only in second trimester. Advice for me too please Smile x

Hi poppy,

My daughter is now 10 lol I’ve been at home since birth lol. If your on you own I suggesting staying with them as long as possible. They will be great support system for you. Also whilst your at home I suggest saving as much money as possible. I’m now 29 and My daughters 10 so I feel it’s time for some independence. Good luck with lo x

Once your moved in apply for Universal Credit online, you'll also be entitled to child element of £277.08 plus an allowance of £317.82. Childcare help if you pay for it and as your working you get an work allowance of £198 per month and they take the earnings over this off your entitlement at 63p for every £1 you earn. Once you claim universal credit any tax credits you get will stop as it's all rolled in to one now.
