hi im near to my due date so baby not here yet, split with the dad when 5months pregnant due to his childish, sometimes dangerous behavior.

to start with we talked every so often but it always ended with long messages of how he loved me didnt understand ect so no we only talk regarding appointments updates ect although i go to these alone.

not to long ago he accused me of breaking up his family and ruining his world - has an old fashioned view on things. i didnt reply to that message. the next time i spoke to him was an update on a midwife appointment to say all fine ect.

because i didnt give him a reaction and he wanted one, he started to put things on facebook saying how excited he was to have baby for a full week when born and then having her every weekend.

i want to cover my options on this and find out can he take a newborn for a full week and then for every weekend?

im currently of work for around 9 months on basic Maternity pay and i will have to look into claiming a few things like housing to help out with rent ect
he works 40 hrs a week and is staying with his parents so has more money then me
baby will hopefully be breast fed
iv NEVER said he cant have contact with her although haven't came up with a full plan on times/hours ect just yet. i do have copys of messages that say he will have contact
she will have my last name but he will be on the birth certificate again he know this
iv said that once a little older we will talk about over night visits ect

can he demand weekend visits from birth and having her for a week to bond? what if it went to court - he would threaten court or take me to court just because he could (he likes to play the victim)

sorry for any mistakes im on my old laptop

and sorry its long thank you to anyone who managed to read it all

Are you married?
You need legal advice but unlikely to get overnight if you are breastfeeding.

thank you for the reply

we are not married

have found a number for a solicitor who deals with family law and who will give me 30 min free advice

im hoping he doesnt go down the solicitor/court route as iv never said he cant see her

NO way will he get anywhere trying to take a newborn from it's mother for a week.

Aw12345 · 03/06/2018 15:50

Surely they'll take into consideration that advice from NHS etc is to breastfeed if you can?! Won't take baby from its source of food!!

Starlight2345 · 03/06/2018 16:21

No chance unless you are an unfit mum would court take away newborn from mum . Little and offen is what is suggested . I would suggest you work out a schedule when baby is here.
I also would for protective factors try to breastfeed.
I would also remove yourself from his fb . It doesn’t matter what he says on s. Media. I am glad you are getting legal advice it will reassure you

thank you every one
im not on his facebook anymore the posts on there were to try and get a reaction from me, that his typical behavior someone does something he doesnt like or says something he doesnt like or agree with he does everything he can to wind them up/get a reaction.

i will be talkign to a solicitor as soon as i can make an appointment just to cover my self as im still hopefull he wont go down that route if he did it would be so he can say he had to - iv never said he wont have contact but it would be a 'oh look at me iv had to go to court just to see my baby'

the only thing iv said to him is i dont want him her all day every day ie 7am-10pm ect
