Travelling as a lone parent

Was wondering if anyone had any advice about holidaying as a lone parent with a 3 yr old ? She’s well travelled and has been on long haul flights every year of her life, but I do not know where to start with doing this alone !! I’ve not done a european holiday for many years and not done anything with kids clubs ever. Do you tend to find other lone parents to chat to or is it all couples/groups ? Any advice on locations to look at for safety etc ? Any good accommodations with good kids clubs ? What to do when child is in bed for the evening ? Alter routines for holidays ? Really hoping someone can say all is not lost and I Will get to holiday with my LG and have a good time !! Thanks Smile

I like it but then I’m ok on my own.

They go in kids club in the morning for 2 hours after a lesisurelt breakfast together. I read, chill, sunbathe. I pick them up at midday. We go back to the room to freshen up and then head out for lunch
After lunch we sit on balancing and read / iPad / doze.
Then we head to beach / pool.
Back to room late afternoon. More reading / iPad whilst I shower and get ready. Then quickly shower then and we head out for dinner / children entertainment.

Back around 8.30. They go to bed, I sit in balcony and watch a film on iPad or read.

It’s bloodu heavenly if I’m honest. No arguing, so balancing with the needs of another adult. Just me and my two children. Relaxing and being with one another.

Over the course of a week’s holiday I will arrange two trips. Waterpark or similar.

Yes I alter slightly
Usually they are 7-7
On holiday it’s 8.30ish bedtime and then up at 7.30ish.

I took mine away to Greece a few times alone.

We tended to stay in s/c accom., and found our immediate holiday neighbours to be very friendly.
I did end up sitting on the balcony alone drinking wine a few times, but it was OK!
If you can tolerate a campsite, this is better and more sociable for you.

Thanks guys that all sounds great and I'm used to drinking wine alone so that balcony wine sounds heaven GrinWinkWine I've done centre Parcs alone before and that was fine, just getting over the whole nerves before first time abroad alone is the key I think. Thanks xx

honestly, try Rhodes. The restaurant waiters were so charming to small children, and everyone was lovely to us.
