Wtc affected by house ownership?

Hi

I have split up with my ex but currently living in my ex's house. I have no property but looking at buying a house. I don't earn enough to buy a house the size we need so my parents are looking to help. I work and get working tax credit. Will owning a house affect my wtc?

Also, my ex is self employed selling on commission. As he doesn't have many expenses other than travel and accommodation costs, would he be able to fudge his earnings with an accountant to.pay little child maintenance?

Thanks

No it doesn't.
Will you be paying your parents back? If so when my parents brought mine the solicitor set up a Declaration of Trust attached to the deeds, so if I sell my flat before I've paid back the full loan my parents get whatever I haven't paid them back back from the sale of the house. Which might be worth looking into (it was free).

Thank you and yes, I'll be paying my parents back (paying them a monthly sum).

Re child maintenance go I think it's worth while going through the CSA (or whatever it's called now) to remove the middle man. But yes, those who are self employed seem to be able to cheat the system sometimes. If you go the direct pay way the assess how much he should pay (and reassess annually) but he pays directly into your account, you pay a £20 admin fee. If he starts to mess about they switch it straight on to the other version that comes with a % charge but then collects evidence that can be used in court or to sore arrears. It's worth ringing them, I find them much better than the old version.

Your ex can screw you over if he’s self employed and sets up a LTD company to pay himself a low wage.
