Moving house to get away from ex?

Has anyone done this? I don't want him to 'win' but its intolerable being in the same town as him.

I don't know if I'd be cutting my nose off to spite my face but it's a small place where everyone thinks he's amazing when he's just a horrible emotionally abusive man.

Would be a huge hassle as not been in house long and would be challenging with schools / jobs etc but starting to think it might be for the best.

I feel the same sometimes. But I’d be moving my dc away from good, close family. That outweighs everything for me. My ex also spouts all sorts of lies over social media, so people think I’m awful keeping my dc away from him. When the truth is very different. It’s tough, but atleast we know the truth.
I guess it all depends on how much stability you currently have where you are.

That's the issue for me too. Sorry to hear you've had it tough as well. Ex is telling ppl I'm mad and limiting access to DC. In reality he's off out partying and horribly abusive to me.

I have a good support network and family nearby which I massively rely on for emotional help and childcare as I am doing bulk of childcare. But majority of people don't realise what he's like and think he's a wonderful incredible man. He's actually truly horrible.

The thought of having to live near him and avoid him for years just feels like it's shortening my life with the related stress.

I’m really sorry you’re having to deal with such shit! It’s bloody hard isn’t it?! Do your dc still see him? Are you able to block him and/or have a third party to do hand overs?
I’m ‘lucky’ that my ex doesn’t have unsupervised contact due to previous dv, so I can try my hardest not to give him any headspace

Thanks @bubblepip I've got it down to one handover a week but last week's one was truly traumatic.

Trying to find a way to get out of that one without making it obvious why.

Feel sick with fear about seeing / dealing with him it he's never laid a finger on me. It's all psychological.
