So, basicly, my ex is not on bc, hes seen son maybe 6 times.. kicked of with me whilst holding him making him cry, shouting, swearing , threatning me.. refuse to give me him back to settle him.. then kicked off in public.. down as domestic violence ( mental abuse ) .. now taking me to court for PR and access.. i have offered him access thru a contact centre but he refused.. anyone been in a similar situation.. so scrared, he is so unstable and never know when he will kick off . He left me wen i was 10 week preg, son took my name at birth, domestic violence is the reason for him not bein on bc as advised from solicitor..

I think that he will get PR if he goes through with legal action but you wouldn't be seen as unreasonable to insist that contact be at a contact centre at first.

I think a contact centre is unreasonable. The child should be introduced slowly to the dad and then then can spend time together. A contact centre isn’t nice for anyone - when the time is right the dad should be able to spend time alone with the child not being watched or ‘supervised’.

The OP is at danger of being abused verbally or physically at handovers so I'd say that a Contact Centre was necessary for her safety and to protect the child from witnessing that behaviour.

It was posted on lone parent a while ago about changes to how domestic violence is seen in courts . Maybe have a search or someone else might know . Ensure your offer of contact centre is in writing . Any abuse do contact the police

Ignore posters who think it is ok to be abusive in front of child and think that is ok to continue .

Ignore posters who put the interest of the father over the potential for abduction, injury to the child, or using contact with the child as a way to further abuse you mentally or emotionally.

Put your insistence on a contact centre in writing if your Sol agrees (if you still have one). Were the DV incidents recorded by police or are there witnesses? Any non molestation order? Any SS involvement? A paper trail wrt DV would come in handy.

I would stick to your guns on the issue of the contact centre. Your ex sounds like an ideal candidate for this approach.

I recommend you contact Women's Aid 0808 2000 247.
