They were pretty shite with xp too, but at least we would have gone out somewhere, even if it was just to my dads.

Instead we will pop to the co op and thats it

Is the co op open today?

Can you not go to the park or similar?

colditz · 09/04/2007 10:09

Yep. they are.

Go to the park and eat icecreams instead.

NuttyMuffins · 09/04/2007 10:09

It flippin better be, pretty sure i read that it was only shut yesterday LOL

Have to get the bus to go to the park and the buses are only running every hour today and for some reason the bus site isn't giving the exact times.

can you go to your dad's anyway?

are there any easter egg/bunny hunts anywhere nearby? check out your local council website.

if there is nothing organised jsut go for a walk; i can't rememebr how old your DC are but how about the step challenge. evryone is supposed to walk 10,000 steps each day. make achart, buy a cheap pedomater...M&S have them for £3.50....and go walking.

NuttyMuffins · 09/04/2007 10:11

If i go to my dads somene has to come pick us up and then bring us back later and my dad is busy doing something in his garage so i don't like to ask.

Will check council site now.

Just to re-assure you, they are pretty crap, full stop. Don't believe for a second that everyone is out there enjoying themselves, many of us are having just as crap a time. I am in the same predicament as you, although I am not a lone parent (in the sense that DH and I are married and living together) but he works every day and bank holidays mean nothing except being stuck at home bored out of my mind. Sorry nothing positive to offer - except solidarity!

colditz · 09/04/2007 10:15

Or you could hang around here being radgy because you are bored, LOL

NuttyMuffins · 09/04/2007 10:15

Oh yeah I can remember when xp was here, we'd normally argue on bhm, so thats an improvment I suppose

Kids are starting to moan now so better think of something.

OP posts:
NuttyMuffins · 09/04/2007 10:15

Colditz, I can't do that again

OP posts:
colditz · 09/04/2007 10:17

Oh

Can't you?

Is that Not Done?

pirategirl · 09/04/2007 10:17

i will be going to the spar, i wish i had a coop lol!!!

Nah Ikwym, my dd has been away the weekend, so have been on my own. apparently she is really poorly so i have that to look forward to for the next few days.
hey ho.!!

NuttyMuffins · 09/04/2007 10:19

LOL Colditz.

I could start with getting dressed I suppose. If I drag it out, it could take all of erm 15 minutes.

stitch · 09/04/2007 10:22

bank holidays are crap. period.
the enforced time with dh is driving me crazzy.
in fact school holidays are crap. wishtheyd be back inschool

stitch · 09/04/2007 10:23

nutty, how far is your dad. cant you take some sort of public transport?

NuttyMuffins · 09/04/2007 10:26

Not sure how far in terms of miles, but in a car it takes about 15/20 minutes. However by bus it takes forever as there is no direct route and so we'd have to get 3 buses there and 3 back.

If it were a normal day then i'd consider it i am so bored, but all the buses are running as a sunday service so we could be standing around at bus stops all day.

blahblahwhatsupnow · 09/04/2007 10:27

go for walks in the sun, collect flowers, play in the garden, make the most of the weather!! there must be stuff to do!

stitch · 09/04/2007 10:29

its a beautiful day. any possibility of walking it? and gettinga taxi back?

Brandyanddietcoke · 09/04/2007 10:30

Hey Nutty, are there none of those little recreation ground parks about? (complete country bumpkin here!) Is the one you get the bus for toooooo far to walk? Even for a bank holiday?

Lastly, are driving lessons out of the question? As someone whose only just passed test (after 10 years on/off lessons) it has opened up to a whole new world to me! Can't advocate it enough!

NuttyMuffins · 09/04/2007 10:30

Definatly couldn't walk it. You've intrigued me to find out how many miles it is now actually, will go and look it up.

Kids have now dissapeared into the garden playing schools, so as long as they are happy to do that then thats fine.

OP posts:
NuttyMuffins · 09/04/2007 10:32

There is apparently a little park thing not far, but from what I can see it is just a big field, I suppose they run round in it though.

I could take them out on their bikes, but we'll have to stay round the estate as there are too many of them to watch on open roads.

Lessons are in the pipeline brandy, i got my provisional through the other day , very very scared.

Brandyanddietcoke · 09/04/2007 10:33

Get a BBQ on the go and have a white wine spritzer (or two!)

NuttyMuffins · 09/04/2007 10:33

Tis 6.2 miles from here to my dads.

OP posts:
Brandyanddietcoke · 09/04/2007 10:37

Ooo gud luck with the driving! All I can say is that it comes with time. I wasnt a natural at all and after having DD, I turned into a nervous wreck but I think determination to get it done helps overcome the nerves in the end! Just think about bank holidays and how you could be at Alton Towers (or any other choice of destination!)

NuttyMuffins · 09/04/2007 10:38

Oh i know, would have been so great to get up today and go where we liked. My aim is to have passed by next years summer hols, so we shall see.

Pinkchampagne · 09/04/2007 10:42

I agree that bank holidays are the pits when you are on your own.
My H was always working bank holidays anyway, so they have always been pretty boring days for me.
My two have actually gone to my parents with their dad today because he is working nights tonight, so I have peace for the first time in days!
