I enquired about a solicitor

Through the union at work. Unfortunately they put me onto my ex's solicitor who declined my instruction. Which is fine . What isn't fine is they told my ex I had enquired. Who has now emailed me asking me who isninstructing me. He has some issues with me. Infact he just has issues. Ive ignored the email for now. What would people do. Would they tell him who is representing me. I'm divorced so don't need anything there. But he seems to think he can still control me through the courts.
In my eyes it's none of his chuffing business.

Yes, both parties will be aware of one another's solicitors, all communication from his will be on headed paper and vice versa.

Is there an issue with him knowing who your representation will be?

Do you mean you need a solicitor for proceedings against your ex? Or do you want a solicitor for something separate from your ex?

My ex is a narcissist. So yes there is an issue him knowing who my representation is . During the divorce he ran up my bill excessively.
I may not need to involve my solicitor in court. I'm perfectly capable of self representing. The fact there are no issues with the kids and it's just him having a little tantrum will pass and hopefully the judge if it ever gets to court will see it. If he does file against me. Which I'm expecting. ( just to clarify there are no safeguarding issues he just wants to control how I parent) i will discuss it with my representation. Up until thwn he can sod off as its none of his buisness.

If you are taking legal advice , you don't have any obligation to tell anybody that you are doing so or who your lawyer is.

Obviously he'll find out if your lawyer writes to his lawyers or produces any documents for the court.

Yep he will. But I won't be telling him in the interim. He can feck off. None of his business.

Just ignore the email. it's nothing to do with him at all. If you need to have communication with him let it go through your solicitor.
