I am thinking to take my dd (she'll be 6 soon) to a holiday park on Easter or Summer Holiday time.
Where can we go that I won't feel lonely, bored and she will enjoy? Which holiday park?
I have started to collect Sun's holiday tokens but I dont know where to select.
It is not necessarily to be with these tokens. I just want some where nice and affordable.
If I can find such a place I will be really happy.
Thank you very much in advance.

depending on where you are nur1 but centreparcs is great or one of the haven holiday parks always have kids clubs and different activities for kids of all ages organised. DS & I are going to the one near Nairn in Scotland for the easter (also DS birthday) holidays.

try the haven holidays website which lists all the parks or pop along to your local travel agent who will be more than happy to supply you with brochures and give you some sound advice.

TerrbileTwo,
Do you go to these parks only with your ds?
Do you feel lonely seeing families around?
I dont know how I will manage that.

i have been to haven with my girls which they loved and the sun holidays include these although it might not be obvious they might just be named by the place they are at!!!

we are also going to centreparcs on our own, in feb, the girls always have a ball, i do feel abit funny about seeing 2 parent families but i normally just concentrate on the miserable looking ones and i feel so much better!!!

not at all nur1 - i work full time so i relish every single minute i get to spend alone with my DS whether its only a quick trip round the shops on a saturday or a fun-filled week at a holiday park.. He has a ball and so do i - don't really pay much attention to the other families around me as DS & me and usually having so much fun.

Hi Nur1. I am a single parent but I usually go to holiday parks with friends. CP is great (just had a brillian short break there in Longleat) but FULL to the brim of posh nuclear families. I guess it depends how much that will bother you, I'm sure it helps to know that many of them are probably as miserable as h** (some of them certainly look that way!). I have bought a bike rack from Halfords for £40 and have already taken the bikes on several holidays and saved £ so I would recommend that. Also buy as much food as you need near home so you don't waste money in expensive restaurants and on site shops.

I have been to some nice places in the Hoseasons brochure, can recommend Whitemead Forest Park in Forest of Dean, about 3 hours drive from London and Sea Acres in Cornwall. I am a bit wary of Haven parks, some of them can be very good I hear. However the one near Tenby is ghastly, really expensive, no room near the van and fag buts all over the place. Stay clear... I have heard good things about Sandy Balls in the New Forest but never stayed there.

thanks very very much caroline3, SurvivingTheTerrbileTwos.
You both encouraged me and I will do my best to find a nice place

hi i take ds 5 away on my own here and abroad. last year we went to turkey and fuerteventura.

with the sun tokens we went to pontins camber sands in oct half term. also butlins in june. send the tokens off the first day if you want school holidays. usually whn we go we get talking to someone whose paid £300 and we've paid £38. i would say go with to one of the bigger camps like pontins, butlins and haven as they do loads of stuff every day for the kids. only time it can feel bit lonely is when you go into the club house at night and everyones in couples. it only takes me a couple of minutes to look at their miserable faces growling at each other and i remind myself why im happy to be single. most women see you as a threat if their man talks to you - as your own your own so you must be after their man ..... ohh please. tbh it not only makes mine and ds bond stronger it makes me feel really independant that i dont need a man to go on holiday IYSWIM.

ive also been away with friends and dont know its probably my personality but i prefer it when its just me and him pleasing ourselves. good luck with what you decide - we live in london too. any questions just ask.
