What is she entitled to?

Posting for a friend.

My friend has 6 month old daughter. Her boyfriend has recently broken up with her. They do not live together - both live with their respective parents, him because he's got no job (is on job seekers) and her because she's currently off work with health issues. She had gone back to work and moved home to try to save money for a place.
Can anyone shed light on what she is entitled to from her ex-DP.

TIA

I think as he is on job seekers she is only entitled to £5 a week from him. It's really not very much at all, I'm afraid.

If she makes a claim through CMS (previously CSA) she will have to pay £20 application fee

Thanks. Gosh, that's pretty rubbish isn't it, but I suppose if he has nothing, he has nothing to give. Gah.

If she is back at work she will be entitled to working tax credits (dependent on how much she earns) I get about £150 per week but am a ridiculously low earner, then child benefit which for one hold is £20.50 a week as well. She would then have a wage on top.

I know that's a lot about my income not hers, but I just wanted her / you to know there was other help - although maintenance would obviously be ideal!

If the relationship was abusive the CMS waive the £20 fee.

If the relationship was abusive AND she has proof..ie DV report to police/social services. It doesn't work if she just says its abusive.

Good to know about other benefits too. She wants to work once she's better, so it's good to know there's more support out there.
Luckily ex-DP wasn't abusive just a bit rubbish.
Thank you all for the replies. My friend is going to go to see someone at the CAB so hopefully can get more info there too.

Check the entitledto website. That covers all available benefits I think.

Thank you HeadDoctor, I've passed that on.
