Hi ladies

I don't want to post any more on my previous post as I want to try and retain some dignity - but I wanted to thank you all for my welcome to mumsnet and for your support.

I fully appreciate that you don't condone my actions but are adult enough and mature enough to see the other side of the picture.

I mean what I say about putting my son first and I feel blessed to have him. The only good thing to come out of my relationship.

Thanks again

Sandy

Sandydut - I was sufficiently intrigued to take a look at your original thread. Wow! You certainly had a baptism of fire on mn, didn't you? Some of the vitriol was astonishing - hope it hasn't put you off.
I can understand people being sensitive about the subject, but I do think you were given a hard time about your motives.

But... that's mn - people can give outspoken opinions because it's anonymous. I've only used mn for a month or so and I find it fascinating - and a great way to avoid stuffing my face in the evening.

Very best wishes to you and your son

sandy i hope you're not too scarred by your first experience of MN! and i hope you took what i said in the way it was intended - i'm the last person to be 'bitchy' and i really wouldn't ever be - in my case i was just genuinely worried for you and confused as to how you could be so hardened about everything. but i guess that is how you have to be. good luck getting the help / advice / support you are looking for; hope you can still find it on MN

Thanks Fortyplus and Cath

I certainly did have a baptism of fire - you're right!

To be fair, I honestly can understand some of the vitriol and take on the chin the comments about me sounding dispassionate. In some ways it probably is a front, but in a lot of ways I genuinely feel extrmely 'sorted' now for the first time in my adult life.

On the other hand if I had posted wanting sympathy I don't think that would have gone down very well either!

Anyway - best not to rake over it all again .

Cath - I have read some of your recent post and hope that you can find happiness however your situation turns out in the end.

I love the comment about stopping you stuffing your face in the evening - my sense of humour exactly!! (not to mention my problem too!)

sandydut - i can honestly say that i never cease to be amazed by some of the intelligence and humour to be found on mn!

If you ever need a brutally honest opinion you can rely on it!

I've not yet been tempted to change my nickname - hope you feel the same! But of course if you do you could be a nineteen year old virgin wanting to know how to find true love - tee hee!

HAve just seen this, hope you are still around!

All the best for you and your child!
