Hi all,

I'm finally moving out of my parents and near my dds school. We are excited and nervous but really need to do this. But I'm scared to tell the ex. Why does he have to spoil everything? I Know he will object to location as we live near him now and moving about 30 min drive away. I'm worried what he will stop me. How will I manage access?? Drop offs are at mo are at my parents house but will be no longer when me move . He will complain about the drive and losing out contact time due to travel? What should I do? Can he take me to court for moving?

Anxious

Thanks

R

No he cant take you to court just cs u have moved house and its not about the amount of time hes spends with your dd but the quality. You are doing what is best for yiu and dd and he cant stop you or kick off. Is there anyway you would be able to arrange for collection and drop off to still be at your parents place??? Just so you dont have the stressing. If not then tough he will just have to suck it up.....I can give him a straw! Good luck in your new home im sure you will be very happy there once you are settled

Thank you to both posters. No I can't arrange contact drops at parents in afraid it's to be Indepedant from now.

But I'm still nervous as how wil he manage the time mid week he gets 4-7. Shall I say to cancel this altogether?? Also Monday he drops her to my parents at 7.15 he says her high school
is too far to drop her now. But is isn't really! Just lazy!

How old is your DD?

fattymcfatfat · 19/01/2015 09:28

Ridiculous. He is destroying his relationship with your dd. There isnt much you can do apart from be there for your dd as she is bound to know what is going on if she is in high school. He will just have to suck it up and be a dad!

Weekends are Friday to Monday so can't extend already extended!

I can offer him Sunday night drop off? He won't be happy likes his Sunday nights. He used to take her to school Mondays asked me too as it feels it's a long drive I accepted as dint want trouble.

What is public transport like where you are? 11 is still too young but my DSs were travelling to their father's independently by about 14, or at least partway. The problem may be only temporary if public transport is good.

Do you both drive? 30mins journey is hardly anything in the grand scheme of things, it shouldn't really be a problem .

ROZ12 · 19/01/2015 11:51

I don't he does but excuses.

No, he can't stop you moving
Don't cancel anything see how he chooses to work it out. It may be that you may need to stay with your parents on a Sunday evening so that she can be dropped off there on Monday morning and he'll have to drop her off at your new home when he has the 4-7
