Hi Everyone

Its been a couple of weeks since i came out and begun living as a woman. Its been very hard and im struggling with life as a woman, just finding my fashion image, doing a daily routine of make up, even knowing how to be around my daughter is very hard.

I have spent the past 3 years over self medicating with female hormones but in all that time i have hidden my changes and dressed as a man the best i could. I came to a stage where i had to come out and be the woman i had slowly turned in to and want to be so i started by showing my female self to my daughter, she has accepted me really well but its me thats finding it hard to be a woman around her, i still feel a little ashamed and guilty which i know are my issues to deal with. I told my work and my daughters school and anyone that i felt needed to know. Its been a mixed bag of acceptance and ignorance.

However as i have spent the past 3 years hiding my changes and not dressing as a woman i now find myself really struggling with my look and image and just being a woman. I have no female friends to talk to or help me with things and i really need help. I feel uncomfortable around my daughter, even though we are closer than ever really but i struggle with me body and feel i still need to hide everything form my daughter but then i think i doont need to anymore, its so hard to explain. For example the other morning she walked in on me getting dressed, i was topless and the minute she walked in a covered up and told her to get out ? then i thought maybe i dont have to do that ? does it matter that she sees me like that ? its all so confusing and its making me feel awkward around her.

I struggle with what clothes i wear, is a tight top ok ?, is showing a little cleavage ok ? is wearing tight jeans ok ? i just feel really out of my depth. How much make up should i wear ? why cant i get my eye make up to look very good ? its so difficult at the moment and i feel alone :(

I guess this is a cry for help in a away and if anyone is willing to offer me a little advice i would be so grateful.

Cleavage is a funny thing. Everyone has different ideas of acceptable. I think if you are comfortable then that's what matters. Its not been long since you started dressing for your new figure, so you'll get more confident. Did you go swimming?

Krissy1980 · 07/12/2014 12:13

Thanks mrspepper, yes it is taking a lot of getting use to, not so much my body as I've had all my lumps and bumps a while now, there all just getting bigger with time lol but I've always hidden them, with huge baggy men's clothes, now I'm wearing women's clothes in general my lumps and bumps are visible, its just all very different and I need to get my confidence like you said, then I think ill be fine.

My daughter came in my bed tho morning for a cuddle which has not happened for almost 3 years, it was nice and gave me a little lay in :)

No we did not go swimming, I dont like the swimming costume I have, I have very large nipples and areola and they show badly through it, it made me paranoid so I'm looking for something else to help with this.

Ah yes. The curse of the nipple!! Look for a costume with built in support. It's your swimming friend. It might also be worth getting a sleeping bra. They can help stop sagging and offer comfy support. I love mine.
I'm so glad you've had a cuddly lie in. What a smashing start to the day Smile
If you'd ever like to chat or ask something please feel free to PM.

Bravissimo do excellent swimming costumes with really good breast support in.

Agreed look at women in the street, celebs etc to see whose style you like, and try to copy that at first, then you will start to deviate a bit. Do you have a favourite female character in a tv show? The friends girls, the big bang theory girls etc? Like in the big bang, at the start Penny and Bernadette dressed very differently but were both feminine and cute in there own way. In friends Rachel and Phoebe again very different, but nice in their own way?

Thanks ladies :) yes i am copying other women, I'm having to buy clothes as i go and i have a limited budget so i am restricted a little. I have just got some boots that come nearly to my knee to wear with leggings and a long jumper top. So many options lol.

I have a personal question if you don't mind. Since being on hormones i have developed boobs which is what i wanted but my nipples and areola have also grown massive ? And even changed colour and become dark brown, i know women have larger nipples in general but mine show through clothing even jumpers, is this normal ? Can i do anything to hide them ? Without having to wear layers of clothes. I mentioned in an earlier post that it was very bad in my swimming costume, i find it a little embarrassing and unsure if its normal ?
