Silly question to do with the storm

I know this probably sounds really pathetic but I'm really not sure whether to leave my bin out tonight because of the forecast storm. It's at times like this I wish I wasn't single... no one to ask for a second opinion or to sort it out. Almost feel like texting ex but would never live it down!

I put it out this afternoon and it is not right beside a car and there's room around it to fall over so should probably be ok?

Don't want to not put it out as it only gets collected fortnightly. And don't really want to go out in the p*ssing heavy rain to move it. What would you do?

Take it in

aw11 · 27/10/2013 21:49

Bring it in, put it next to your bed. It's the only way to be sure.

Neepandthedragon · 27/10/2013 21:50

It will probably be less effort to bring it in now rather than clearing up all the rubbish if it blows over

Sasquatch75 · 27/10/2013 21:52

If it's ready to be collected it'll be nice and heavy won't it?

The bin men might not come I suppose...

Meglet · 27/10/2013 21:53

Bring it in. It won't just fall over. It'll go sliding down the street if the wind is really bad.

FreeAtLastAtLongLast · 27/10/2013 21:55

Bring it in, you can always put it back out at 7am. Better than clearing up all your rubbish!

laughingeyes2013 · 27/10/2013 22:00

I'd put it out tomorrow when you have a better idea of how things are going. I know not all predictions are accurate but the forecast seem pretty time-specific, so you should have an idea of which time bracket your area is in. For example, isles of Scilly 12 midnight, South Central 5-10am, Kent 12 noon. If you're in Cornwall you should be over the worst before the bins are emptied Wink

Ilovemydogandmydoglovesme · 27/10/2013 22:19

Yes get it in. Your rubbish will be all over the neighbourhood in the morning. And your bin will be in your most horrible neighbours car. It won't be worth the hassle.

RitaFajita · 27/10/2013 22:19

aw11 you're probably right, the only safe option would be to put it beside my bed Grin

Wouldn't be too fussed about picking up rubbish tomorrow, I'm more shitting myself nervous incase it blows against a car and damages it.

But the neighours have put theirs out and i'm feeling lazy!!! Will ponder, thanks for your replies, feel less alone now and no one has told me I'm a fool so that's a bonus too!!

By taking it in, it just means putting it infront of the front of my car in my drive - but I guess then it would 'only' hit my car.... hmmmm guess that's what I need to do.

I have no clue about bins, hope it went ok.

I do find this exhausting though, having to make every single decision yourself. And having no-one to moan at if it is the wrong one! When people come to stay and they ask to bring me something I always ask them to cook and decide what to cook without me having to think about it.

RitaFajita · 28/10/2013 21:52

Thanks WithConfidence ended up looking at the bin from my bedroom window half the night checking was still upright. Decided at about 5am that I needed to go out and move it!

Like the idea of getting visitors to cook a surprise for you. Letting someone else take the reins and make a decision sounds great.

As you say, its not great having to be in charge all the time. Am not normally an indecisive person but sometimes it gets a bit much and turn into an ejit who can't decide what to do about a bin!
