Lone parent groups

I'm starting an access course in Sept and part of it will be volunteering which I already do. But I'm a lone parent and find baby groups very stressful sometimes.
I'm thinking of starting to run my own group.
So I'm doing research. If you saw a single parents coffee morning or afternoon advertised. Would you be interested?
And if you are what would you like on offer?
And if no, can I ask why?

I'm looking to run it with gingerbread as we don't have anything in my area Smile

Thank you

I don't know if I would choose a lone parents group over one that everybody can go to. I wouldn't talk about my personal life with strangers at any baby group so one for lone parents would put me off as I'd expect it to be created with the idea of offering support to each other which means talking about it, if that makes sense? I think it would be great for people who do like to chat about that kind of stuff though because they can see how other people cope and stuff :)

Yes I would go. It would be good to chat to others in the same boat. I don't mind sharing.

Okay,
Would you like it in a coffee shop with space for the children to play?
Mornings or afternoons?

Sorry for the questions I'm just making some flyers Smile

I would go. I'd quite like to make rl lone parent friends. On the one hand having it in a coffee shop might put people off as it might be too expensive but on the other hand is be more likely to go than if it was a childrens centre.

I would go - I feel like I am the only one in this boat where I live and would love some rl friends that just know what it's like.

I would also happily meet in coffee shop - and to be honest, it makes no difference to me really morning or afternoons, but most kids drop the morning nap first don't they? So maybe morning would be better as there is no way on earth I would miss mine my boys afternoon nap!

Some good points thank you really helpful!
I could put adverts all over too, yes I was thinking I'd like the informal setting rather than a family centre.
I think I shall go for it then, most of my feedback has been very positive Smile
I have made sure its a cheaper coffee shop, very large, and lots and lots of children's facilities Smile

Yeah just light relief Wink can offer support and signposting too but only if asked.
I've been asked if dads can come too, any thoughts on that?

I'm in Sussex Smile
