burberryqueen · 04/06/2013 15:08

pipsqueakz · 04/06/2013 15:41

im from Ireland, want to go really somewhere in the london area, where the cost of loving isnt so expensive ( hard to find i know)

'cost of loving' is high everywhere Grin
cost of living is pretty much the same everywhere except for rents -
have you any other criteria?
don't forget Brighton is only an hour away.....

Steena92 · 04/06/2013 17:06

hahaha did'nt realise i wrote cost of 'loving'
No other criteria really, just somewhere safe for my child to grow up in
I am moving to record my music so i guess somewhere with good public transport options to get into city center
thank you all for replying by the way

How about somewhere in North London like East Finchley (N2) or Muswell Hill (N10)?

pipsqueakz · 04/06/2013 17:44

Bristol is excellent in the music and arts dept if you want safe then clevedon is good and only half hour from city of bristol. Not overly expensive either.

pipsqueakz · 04/06/2013 17:46

Sorry I post dived lol didn't see your post that want to specifically go to London. Sorry :)

Steena92 · 04/06/2013 17:56

how much rent can you afford? or are you buying?

iwantanafternoonnap · 05/06/2013 11:02

but Brighton is London by the sea Wink

Plus it is very easy to get from Brighton to London city centre

burberryqueen · 05/06/2013 12:42

true and Brighton is a great place to be as a parent.

Steena92 · 05/06/2013 19:43

does anyone know if croydon, barnet, romford are good areas?

OP posts:
GibberTheMonkey · 05/06/2013 19:56

Bridlington? WinkGrin

iwantanafternoonnap · 06/06/2013 21:59

steena no they aren't well so I have been told anyway Grin

burberryqueen · 07/06/2013 06:38

Barnet is OK, wouldnt go for Romford or Croydon personally.

Concreteblonde · 09/06/2013 10:42

There are reasons why those areas are the cheapest....
Are you renting or buying ?

lljkk · 09/06/2013 10:45

She's a young lone parent, I'll be amazed if she can buy anywhere in London. Can she apply for council housing, what are rules for Irish?

burberryqueen · 09/06/2013 14:12

I think you have to be resident before that, regardless.
Anyway perhaps she is thinking of renting rather than buying?

Flyingtree · 10/06/2013 01:18

Bristol. Culture. Nightlife. Scenery. History. Food. Genuine (Westcountry) Somerset friendliness.

I also think Leeds is a great place to grow up.

pipsqueakz · 10/06/2013 08:08

Rent is cheaper this way than London too but op said she wanted to be near the capital - flyingtree.
But agree with all your comments on bristol I'm in this area.

Steena92 · 12/06/2013 14:15
