What do you do when your ex has your DCs?

ExP has DS overnight every other Saturday. Quite often I see friends, or hang out with my mum, however next weekend my mum's away and friends are busy. I'm quite freaked out at the prospect at being by myself most of the weekend. I can handle the evening if I've had a busy day or having a chilled out Sun if I've been out the night before but I have no plans at all. Sad At this rate I'm going to end up spending the whole weekend doing housework, which is productive but not exactly fun...

I really need to get a hobby or something to meet new people. My friends and family are great but I feel like I need a wider social circle, partly to keep me busy when DS is not around.

How do I do it though?! What do you do when you don't have your DCs?

How about joining a local gym - council run ones are not too dear. Should burn off some calories and leave you chilled in the evening.

Gyms are really not my thing. But you have reminded me that I could go for a swim. I may well do that next Sunday morning. Thanks!

I run.
Swim.
Go to cinema, I like to go by myself so it works out nicely.
I drive up to where I come from and see my friends and sister.

I used to get very, very miserable. Not having any money I couldn't go out with friends, and I have no family around. I used to catch up on the housework and comfort eat, watch rubbish tv and cry.

Now, I still don't have any money to go out but I really make the effort to do some things for me. I've started an access course and that takes much of my time, I potter in the garden, go off for a walk in the countryside or visit a friends home. I also take the opportunity to have relaxing baths, pluck and trim, face pack etc.

I think the main thing is that, although I do get lonely at times, I have learned to be happy in my company.
