It's just so hard!! I'm neglecting my studying and putting it off completely! I got stressed and left my job as it was working with family and I couldn't leave the job at work at the end of the day!

Will I ever get my act together and do my college work? I need to do this bit now I also feel like I need to get a new job and loose weight!!

Would it help to schedule your time in advance? Look at your week and work out when you can realistically do some study, write it down and then just stick to it no matter what. Even losing weight can be easier if you have a bit of a routine going, schedule in some time for excercise and have set meal times. Sounds a bit boring but I find it does help Smile

One thing at a time. My advice:

  • don't try to do childcare and studying at the same time you won't do either properly. Make sure your child(ren) go to bed always on time, and study afterwards or in the morning before they wake up.,

I found that having exercises videos that were split in segments of 10 minutes helped: every time I felt streessed about the srudy or a particular siituation, i went and did ten mmutes of exercise instead of directing myself to the fridge.

It's hard work fitting it all in but I agree with setting out a routine.

But it's hard during the holidays.

Do you have someone you can do a child care swap with. So they have your dc around one afternoon and you have yours the next. Do you have a smartphone or mp3 player? iTunes university have a good range of lectures. If you can find something relevant you can download it and listen with headphones whilst going on a long walk. I find I walk longer if in listening to one. I also listen to them I. The bath or when washing up and tidying the kitchen. It probably depends what you're studying though.

I think making a schedule might help ad at the moment I don't know what I'm doing from one day to the next!

I also have 10mins bash belly fat and have started trying to do that! And my mum can have dd of need be, it just seems I get her to take dd for other things but I won't plan for my studying!

The lectures sounds really good, but not sure If they will have anything for me as I am doing a NVQ level 3 in business admin! And I think because I have to do it all by myself and not in a group or lecture situation I don't get motivated atall. But I'll have a look. Do you have to pay to download it?

No they are usually free.

Just watch from the main iTunes page and it will tell you if there's podcasts or stuff in the university section. Maybe try searching for a specific part of your course too.

Open learning on the ou website might be worth looking at too. They often have lectures to listen to.

Try and schedule the time in and be strict about studying in that time. Then you can relax a bit more if you know you're going to do it at a certain time.

Only way I got through it was to break everything down to 30 mins. For example wen not at work - study for 30 mins then down tools, tidy was up etc for 30mins, study for 30 mins, YouTube stretch / exercise 30mins and so on. The brief breaks from studying help keep mind fresh and ur brain can work on a problem whilst your doing something else.

I stuck to this sort of and it works!

Do what you can we're you can, ask for help from anybody and everybody (swallow pride if need be), what you cant do - hold your hands up & accept your only human an let it go like water off a ducks back.
