Not sure about this myself but my DS is 21 months old and everyone keeps saying to me how good looking he is and I should have him ''selling nappys!!'' (modelling).
with university degrees going sky high and me a single mum with no help from his father, my family or friends maybe its not a bad idea to get a trust fund for him but what would i have to do? Thanks

A trust fund is a good idea. Ready for when he's 18. With the modelling try yellow pages. Or start off as baby competitions. Maybe someone will pick you out from there.

It's not something I know much about but as far as I know from here and elsewhere there's actually pretty much no money in it once you take out expenses etc and most people do it for pride.

if you contact the editorial team of someone like Mother and Baby Magazine (the number is on the inside with the list of staff, you want to ring the editorial assistant) and ask them for a list of approved agencies they use, they will happily oblige and send it to you. It's better to go to a well known agency from the get go.

One little caution though, I have to say that unless you live in London and are happy to trek around for endless castings (which often come to nothing) just because you enjoy it, and your baby enjoys it,the whole trust fund idea can be a bit of a pot at the end of the rainbow scenario. While Huggies might pay out a decent whack for a TV advert, most mags will only pay around £400 a go, and aren't likely to cover your travel.

All in all, I'd say it's a fun thing to do if you like that kind of thing, but damn stressful and unrewarding if you go into it looking to make a fortune. I used to work for M&B, and have been to castings and met many mums, however I have never actually signed up my child to participate, so I have a bit of a one sided POV - I'm sure many, many mums love it! I'm just a bit of a realist :)
