I am a single mum to 3 DC and in a recent discussion with them, they asked if they could have more 'family' time with me (I work 5 days a week, 9-5pm).

We have agreed that Friday nights will be our family time, also the weekends that the children aren't with their dad, but I was just wondering how you spend quality time together with your children - either single parents or families. I obviously have a limited budget so cannot afford bowling, cinema and the like on a regular basis. We do have board games that we can play, but this always ends up with one of the DC sulking because they've lost/not ahead on the board, etc, etc. I have 2 boys (14, 10) and 1 girl (7).

Any ideas/suggestions greatly received Grin (have also posted this in Parenting)

I can remember a few years back and I made a list of activies that we could do. Starting with the free ideas. Think indoor picnic was on there. Dinner by candlelight. Camping with the tents in the garden. Walk to nearby park. Ball games.ect
Then things for fiver and under. Dvd Maybe does cinema do the cheap Sat mornings? We have a woodland park that you have to pay to park and fuel to drive there so that would go on. Crabing
I have got a "Whats on" paper in my local area. This gives lots of free family days, firework nights.
Then you have the under at tenner which with the 3 kids may have to be under 15!!
Anyway you get the idea. Then you can mix them up and just do the expensive ones now and again. Have fun .
