So, it is apparently a big weekend

Am I the only one to feel that I am missing something here.

Just me and DD - should we do something different this weekend

Don't feel up to being happy/fun filled/martyr

We can't have a big friends/family partaaaaay. We are on our own.

What can I do to ensure that DD doesn't think her mum is a friendless loser

Is there anything happening in your town that you could go along to and then leave when you've had enough? We might watch the tv coverage of the boats on the Thames. But you could just do something fun for both of you it doesn't have to be jubilee related. Personally I'm not that keen on bank holiday weekends as a whole :) too much pressure to be enjoying yourself!

there are some things going on in my local park tomorrow (a teddy bears picnic for under 5's, a big screen outdoor cinema showing Madagascar at lunch time etc). Maybe there's something going on near you that you could pop along to and enjoy just the two of you, as a bit of a different day out?

I hear you. Everyone but everyone is out with either families or having other families over, the singles are off in bars and weekend breaks doing single things. It's just the DCs and I. No money, rain, under 3s. House messy, million things to eBay. Wow. So dull. Oh and my phone broke so can't even make mercy calls out.

I suggest baking AmI. Easy biscuits, get busy with the decorating. I think we might do that when I've done an emergency clean around. The one year old can hold a spoon. Hmm that won't last long. Recipe for disaster perhaps!

its just me and dd over the weekend too. We are going to walk to the supermarket and get some nice food and bake brownies this aft. Don't know what else to do though as I'm skint, its raining and dd is just 3 and a whiner!!

perceptionreality · 03/06/2012 12:22

I did some baking yesterday with my youngest dd - the older two are at their dad's for the weekend.

What can anyone do this weekend that's so great anyway? The weather is awful...

AmIthatbad · 03/06/2012 14:26

Smile weather not too bad here, but we're surviving. Cleaned house, roast in oven, and watching Night at the Museum 2.

DD didn't want to go to the big picnic thing at the park yesterday, so we stayed in house/garden.

Back to work and school tomorrow, so a shorter weekend than many others (we don't get Monday as a holiday)

We haven't done anything either. TBH the weather is so bad I'm happy to have a normal weekend.

I did buy some Union Jack chocolate lollies from M&S for the kids.
