Maintenance payments stopped - full time job to full time student????

My DD has received payments via the CSA for several years from her father. I know they were made very begrudingly by him and his wife, but made nonetheless. However, after calling the CSA to see why we had not received a payment this month, I was told they had received a 'change of circumstances' from him and were awaiting confirmation of this.

What I can gather he has left a very secure and well paid job he has done for nearly 20 years to become a 'full time student'. And if this turns out to be the situation, under CSA regulations my daughter will be entitled nothing from her Dad. Anyone else been in this situation and have any advise please!!!!

No is the simple answer. We have absolutely no contact and he has never seen DD. To further complicate things, he is totally estranged from the rest of his family, his decision. Meanwhile, we are very much involved with his parents, his brothers/sisters and their children. This side of my DD's family live a long way from us but we still try to visit a least twice a year. So funnily enough the money he paid went towards these trips and may have to stop.

I'm not sure what advice you're looking for. You've been advised correctly. If your ex has stopped work and is a full time student, he will have a nil assessment. There's nothing can be done about it.

nothing you can do.

and if the money was only used for trips to see his family you can just explain the situation to them and say that you need their financial help to go visit them. adn the cost of petrol/train/coach is xx£££

Must be a shock to suddenly have to take a hit to the family finances, but these things happen - perhaps he was made redundant and is retraining? Can you manage without if you make savings? Lots of people are tightening their belts, so there are loads of help threads around. And I think if the CSA are involved and he does get another job he has to let them know so you'll get payments again.
