First Xmas as parent and single parent, all family cards have been swapped and I don't have one from dd Sad it's just adding to how crap I feel about everything just now, though fine about being single.

(((hugs)))

Usually a thoughtful friend or relative might think of this. It won't be long until you are getting cards made with love when she attends nursery and then school although that seems a long time in the future just now. I hope you and your beautiful daughter have a peaceful and cuddly Christmas and you rejoice in all your achievements as a parent in the coming year. x

Thanks thought my mum might come good for once but guess not! She starts nursery when I go back to work in January so guess I'll get one next year Sad

If its any help my first mothers day i didnt get a card from ds as family and friends thought someone else would do it..and the year after i got 4 cards and 3 bunches of flowers!!

Never had any cards or pressies from ds for xmas but thats where i step in and treat myself to whatever i've been wishing for, this year ds is 'paying' for me to get my hair cut as its been over a year! Try not to get too disheartened and know that if ure dd was able to she would give u the world..Merry Christmas!

Actually i've just assumed they all thought someone else would get one, maybe they didnt think to..either way it should only happen once!

I'm not sure how old your DD is, but mine is 12 and I still get school made ones. (she has SN and doesn't "do" money) I've also bought myself perfume and slippers and we wrapped them together and they are now under the tree. I will act surprised when I open them on Christmas Day and she will love it. Why don't you wrap yourself something, just so she can see you opening it ?

And look on the bright side - think of the money you'll save by not having to buy for the Ex Xmas Grin

She's 7 months old and we'll be with the GPs on Xmas day anyway so I'll get some presents to open anyway. TBH think I'm more disappointed in my mum who has changed so much or our relationship has changed so much since DD was born I honestly thought she'd do something Xmas Confused
