Why don't CSA take eBay earnings into account as income?

Do you think forwarding the user ID name would be enough to convince the CSA the children's father -who claims dole so contributes the minimum £5 a week for two children- is actually earning thousands of pounds a year online selling? No doubt he'll have fake name/address attached to the ID as that's how he rolls but the bank account details will be in his name.

I'm almost bankrupt, I could really do with some help financially. I mean I am acutally looking up online right now what it means to go bankrupt, so it IS that bad.

To answer your question, the CSA don't take Ebay earnings into account because they don't know about them.

Some people run Ebay as a proper business. Many more don't. I despise people who make a living buying and selling on ebay whilst paying no income tax and leaving the rest of us to pick up the tab.

I don't know what the CSA can do but i'd certainly be reporting him to the Inland Revenue.

I'll second going to HMRC and not CSA - ime, CSA can only do something where there's paper showing income, so that's wages or benefits. Pretty much anything else, especially if it's not legal, and they can't do a thing.

SO in short, HMRC and DWP - doubtless he's not declaring to either place.

Wrt going bankrupt or IVA, you're looking at it affecting around the next 6 years of your life at least. Please get good advice from Citizen's Advice / Welfare Rights / Community Law Services, and whatever you do, avoid "debt management" companies like the plague they are.
