A Tale of Woe

On the bus with DC and got talking to a chap whose dog took a liking to DD1. Man is divorced and upon asking me if their dad was still around I said we are not together, however he is still in their lives.

Tells me all about his children, visitation, how much he loves them and about his messy divorce. Seemed a nice guy (not in that way) and we discussed how we agreed that contact with kids was important, being civil etc etc.

He then proceeded to tell me, with immense pleasure, how after the divorce he decided to pack in his job so he wouldn't have to pay the mortgage and she would lose the house and to escape paying maintenance Hmm. Not sure if he was expecting a round of applause from me, the single mum, for his cunning idea that because they had split he now had no financial responsibility anymore for his DC but could instead play the hard done by NRP. Luckily I had to get off the next stop before I thwunked the twat.

Oh yuck Sad

A guy I used to know had a child with his ex, a stripper. He'd loved her being a stripper, especially the money - she was the main breadwinner. When they split acrimoniously he used it against her in court and said her choice of job was evidence she was an unfit mother.

Anyone else remember that phrase from the 80's:-

"Base - how low can you go!"

If it's the last thing I do my DS will understand "you made it, you raise it!". Or I'll frogmarch him to the ATM and vasectomy clinic myself by his ear! All these men had mothers - lets use our influence to collectvely change this damn fool way of thinking forever!

"base how low can you go" ... that's Public Enemy's Bring the Noise.

He sounds similar to my ex. Luckly no-one has any sympathy left for him, everyone know's what he's really like now and his karma has been awful ever since.
