Just want to admit that one of the reasons I like going to my son's football matches is that I have known 2 of the other Dads for years and we all hug hello - and they are the only hugs from someone over the age of 14 I get all week! I know, I'm sad Smile

Ah, that's lovely. I like it when hugs are spontaneous hellos from people who like you.

makemeskinny · 06/02/2011 13:30

I dont know when the last time i had a hug was :(

I'm jealous!!

it's the little things! I have lots of hugs from my 2 boys, plus my class at school are very huggy, but there is something different about a grown up hug - once the football season finishes it will be back to only kiddy hugs for months!

oh i dont know, i cant be doing with hello hugs! i find them little cheesy!! what happened to the good old fashioned wave? and dont get me started on women that scream when they see each other in town or whatever! Confused

Flame · 06/02/2011 17:38

I am the same. I turned up at mate's work on Friday (I do often go to see her there - she owns it) purely for a big hug.

Sundays are my fave night as my mate comes round and although he feels nothing for me, I can spend the evening snuggled up next to another heartbeat

bobala · 06/02/2011 17:51

exactly - they are 2 big tall blokes and it's so nice getting hugs from them. I don't do any of the fake stuff -I have known them both a long time so it's very natural. Never been a girly screamer -they drive me mad!

bobala where are you near!? I might suddenly feign take up an interest in football if there's hugs to be had!

bobala · 06/02/2011 18:23

and I forgot to mention the kisses!

PepperMoonchild · 06/02/2011 18:40

Aww, ds is 10 months and though he tries to get to my breasts snuggles, there's no hugging yet. Don't think I've been hugged ds was born and exh left :(
I like the sound of your football club!

bobala · 06/02/2011 18:52

glad it's not just me largely deprived of hugs then. Maybe we are all missing a business opportunity here?!

I remember when I went to see an Alexander Technique practicioner where I worked. When he started touching my back (in a totally non creepy, non sexual way) I almost cried, and it was then I realised that despite the fact that I was married it was the most human contact I had had for a long long time.

NoSoapInADirtyWar · 07/02/2011 13:49

I want a hug! Sad I am really really wanting a bit of grown up comfortable company at the moment - the more I think about it the lonelier I feel.

bobala · 07/02/2011 18:51

all the kiddy hugs in the world can't make up for an adult hug can they?

I had this when I was single for ages years ago. I went for a massage and nearly cried just because it made me realise how long it had been since someone had touched me (more than just a handshake for example). I definitely recommend it. I make a point of going to the beautician at least once a month just to chat and make myself feel lovely :)
So if you can't get footy hugs perhaps you could try a massage/pedicure/manicure instead Wink
